Well-known Ghanaian dancehall performer Shatta Wale has expressed worries over comedian Funny Face's mental health, arguing that his challenges are more indicative of larger problems in the creative business than simple marital difficulties.
In a moving Facebook post, Shaka Wale urged anyone impacted by the cycle of despair and annoyance that befalls individuals involved in Ghana's creative arts sector to get support and push for structural change.
"The creative arts sector has to end the vicious cycle of self-punishment that results in despair and annoyance. Now is the moment to ask for assistance. Funny Face's situation is not only a marriage problem; it's a sign of more serious structural problems in our creative sectors. Let's quit acting like everything is alright and face the dysfunction in our systems. It's time for change, speak up! I'm sorry, Funny Face, my brother. "May God sustain you," he murmured.
Shatta Wale's remarks add to the ongoing discussion over Funny Face's mental health that arose after he was involved in a catastrophic vehicle accident in Kasoa, Central Region.
